Since 2010, Valley resident Sue Adatto has traveled to Israel each summer with Volunteers for Israel to participate in the Israeli Sar-El program.

Adatto made her first trip when her daughter, then 17, was looking for something to do in Israel that wasn’t a youth group trip. The two volunteered on separate bases and met on the weekends. Her daughter joined Adatto again the following year, and since then Adatto has made the trek on her own.
