Things supposedly happen in threes. When Aaron Scholar announced his retirement as director of the Bureau of Jewish Education in a brief email sent March 13, it followed news that a new regional director of the Anti-Defamation League had been hired and a formal announcement that a new executive director had been hired by the Jewish Genetic Diseases Center of Greater Phoenix.

Jake Bennett is the new director of ADL’s Arizona Region. A former “lone soldier” in the Israel Defense Forces, Bennett succeeds Bill Straus, who retired in December 2013 after 13 years with ADL.
