Gov. Doug Ducey stepped out of the tunnels of the City of David onto the plaza in front of the Western Wall. Leading the first Arizona trade mission to Israel, he knew that to understand the miracle of Israel today, one must know the heritage and culture of its people. Ducey wanted to learn how this small but incredibly advanced country has not only survived, but has thrived, as well.

That education was provided to his delegation on a nonstop itinerary for the past several days. His energy was boundless; his yearning for knowledge never paused. In preparation for his trip, which was inspired by the book “Start-up Nation” along with his Roman Catholic religious upbringing, he conducted his own research plus received excellent briefings from his staff members Kirk Adams, Danny Seiden and Sarah Mueller.
