As Dreamers hang in the balance, Valley’s Jewish community shows support

As the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program continues to be batted about in Congress, the White House and the courts, leaders in the local Jewish community continue their support of the measure.

“At the end of the day, though clearly a legislative issue in the hands of our elected officials on Capitol Hill, the plight of the Dreamers speaks to the heart of who we are as Americans,” said Rabbi John Linder of Temple Solel. “These 800,000 young people, brought to America as children, may not be our sons and daughters, but they are surely our brothers and sisters.”
