Last summer, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts announced they would be accepting girls, thus creating Family Packs. Now, not only does the Valley's Jewish community have one of the first Family Cub Scout Packs in the state, it also boasts the only shomer Shabbat and kosher pack in the nation.

Thats according to Seth Rosenberg, treasurer of the Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts of America Jewish Committee. Cub Scout Family Pack 210 was chartered in conjunction with the Jewish War Veterans Post 210, the Grand Canyon Council and the National Jewish Committee on Scouting. A “family” designation means girls are now welcome, however, the girls still will have their own dens.
