At noon earlier today, ADL Arizona Regional Director Carlos Galindo-Elvira announced his departure from the organization. Galindo-Elvira disclosed the news in an email that was circulated to community partners.

“For more than three years, it’s been my distinct honor to participate in efforts to protect the Jewish people and marginalized communities with a talented team of professionals. We’ve become the first contact for the Jewish community when anti-Semitic incidents occur. We’ve built a network with communities across Arizona. We’ve implemented new educational programs and strengthened ties with law enforcement. We’ve advocated for all Arizonans. We’ve included diverse people in our leadership program. In sum, we’ve worked diligently to fight hate for good.

“I will be departing from ADL for a new opportunity today. My sincerest appreciation to all who joined in fighting the good fight. Your support and kindness will not be lost on me.

“You can still count on me to clearly and often lend my voice on issues of bigotry, prejudice and bias: no way, no how, no hate.

A heartfelt thank you. Shalom.”
