In 1958, Abstract Expressionist artist Mark Rothko was given the largest commission ever awarded to an American artist: the creation of a set of murals for New York City's new Four Seasons Restaurant.

The creation of these canvasses, along with the subjects of art, influence and integrity, is the subject of Arizona Theatre Company's co-production (with Seattle Repertory Theatre) of "Red," John Logan's Tony Award-winning play. The two-man show stars Connor Toms as Ken, while Denis Arndt portrays Rothko.
