If the question "What if?" inspired Leon H. Gildin's first novel, "The Polski Affair," the question "What then?" inspired its sequel.

As Gildin relates in the dedication to "The Family Affair" (Diamond River Books, $17 paperback) the question posed first by his granddaughter, Courtney Mathias, and then by his wife, Gloria, motivated him to write the second book to let his readers know what became of the compelling characters he had created in his first.
