The museum curators did not allow photography, but I captured mental images to last a lifetime.

The Anne Frank House, located in Amsterdam, displays the secret annex where the Franks, Van Pels and Fritz Pfeffer went into hiding from the Nazis on July 6, 1942. Influential quotes from Anne Frank’s diary line the walls, provoking contemplation of a secret life under Nazi rule. Some are inspirational and uplifting, while others are dreadful, painting mental images of longing for freedom and liberty.
