Filmmaker Tiffany Shlain’s nonprofit Let it Ripple will broaden the reach of its Character Day, which uses film and discussion materials to create a global conversation about the importance of character-building in today’s 24/7 world.
Character Day – described as “an annual global day devoted to developing who we are and who we want to be in the world” – will be celebrated worldwide on Sept. 22.
In 2014, Character Day’s first year, 1,500 schools and organizations in 32 countries participated. Last year, 6,784 groups in 125 countries participated.
The company provides free short films about character, including “The Making of a Mensch,” “The Adaptable Mind” and “The Science of Character,” discussion kits, online resources for building character strengths and a global online Q&A.
