It’s true. Arizona offers multiple dollar- for-dollar tax credit programs, empowering residents to decide how their tax dollars are utilized. The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit (ACTC) and Private School Tuition Tax Credit (PSTTC) are two of these programs. For several years, a group of local Jewish organizations have been working together to educate the community about this unique giving opportunity. The Council For Jews With Special Needs, Jewish Family & Children’s Service, Jewish Free Loan and Kivel Campus of Care are beneficiaries of the ACTC, which allows taxpayers to contribute up to $800/joint, $400/ individual to provide assistance to low-income households. The Jewish Tuition Organization, is the Jewish community’s beneficiary of the PSTTC, which supports need-based scholarships in six Jewish Day Schools. Taxpayers can contribute up to $2,173/joint, $1,087/individual using the PSTTC. The deadline for these tax credit programs is April 15, 2017 or when you file your taxes.
