As a transdenominational, egalitarian and pluralistic professional organization that brings together rabbis from around the Valley and northern Arizona, our association represents a diverse body of Jewish knowledge and rabbinic leadership. Members of the Board of Rabbis are required to be members in good standing of recognized national rabbinical associations that subscribe to a code of ethics and committed to the concept of klal Yisrael (the unity of the Jewish people). A primary focus of the Board of Rabbis is our desire to provide leadership and opportunities for the community to grow in knowledge and understanding. Our annual Tikkun Leil Shavuot program provides engaging opportunities for the community to come together in celebration of Jewish study and learning. This will be our third year as local sponsors of the world-renowned Florence Melton School of Jewish Learning. With programs of various duration, participants engage in study of our traditions and texts. The Board of Rabbis has assumed a primary role in facilitating the re-establishment of the Jewish Community Relations Council to be launched this fall, with financial support granted by the Jewish Community Foundation. The JCRC will focus on advocacy, education and coalition building for public affairs initiatives, seeking out partnerships and building bridges of understanding. Our collective voice will help to move forward our communal public affairs agenda, motivating both Jews and non-Jews to take action in areas such as civil rights, peace, security, democracy and Israel advocacy. Feel free to contact any one of our leadership team for information on local Jewish life, congregations and for your lifecycle needs. We look forward to meeting you.
